Simpson provides complete engineered plans, engineered design calculations, and even engineered foundation plans by a licensed Utah engineer that you will need to obtain your building permit.
While Utah building permits can be very strict, Simpson’s buildings have never been denied a permit within this state. We do have a licensed engineer to stamp all our plans, but we still rely on our customers verifying all of their snow load, wind load and seismic category requirements. Simpson offers 18” roof overhangs for our building packages. These can be a very important addition in Utah, particularly in areas with higher-than-normal snow load requirements. Adding overhangs to your buildings roofs not only enhance the buildings looks, but they also help push any snow that is falling off the roof away from the buildings doors and foundation. Some building owners will use gutters & downspouts, others believe that the snow can break the gutters off too easily and elect to go with the overhangs. We also provide insulation packages of 3”, 4” and 6” thicknesses. Adding insulation to your building will help with climate control and will also help reduce any kind of condensation build up during the hotter months. This will be key to protecting your personal belongings and valuable items that you are storing.
