At Simpson Steel Building Company, we make Arizona projects straightforward. If you’re planning a metal building or a steel building in the state, we guide you from concept to kit with clear specs, honest pricing, and responsive support. Our patented truss system delivers open interiors and dependable strength while keeping budgets predictable. Our core metal building kits use a steel truss frame engineered to your site loads and intended use. Standard truss limits are 50′ width and 18′ eave height; if your needs exceed those, we’ll price a rigid steel building and explain the trade-offs. Either way, you get durable components, straightforward assembly, and options like doors, windows, insulation, and color roofs.
How We Keep It Affordable
Because our truss design derives strength from geometry, not massive I-beams, many customers see savings compared with similar rigid frames. That efficiency helps farms, small businesses, and hobby users get the metal building they need without overspending. For larger spans or hangars, a rigid steel building is available. To quote accurately, we’ll ask for dimensions, ZIP code, openings, endwall style, and any accessories. Prefer to talk it through? Call our team. Ready to price now? Use the detailed quote form. Just exploring? Send a quick-contact note and we’ll help you determine the right metal building path. Let’s turn your plan into a kit that ships fast and installs smoothly. Simpson Steel Building Company has been providing metal buildings in Arizona for over 40 years. We’ve become very familiar with and kept up with local building code changes that have come up over the years. Every county in Arizona is a little different and our steel building kits have never been denied a permit in any of them. Simpson provides complete engineered plans, engineered design calculations, and even engineered foundation plans by a licensed Arizona engineer that you will need to obtain your building permit.

Steel buildings in Arizona must be designed to be strong enough to handle a very wide range of climates throughout the state. Simpson’s steel building kits are prepared to handle the heavy snow loads in and around Flagstaff. They are also prepared to handle the extreme heats in and around Phoenix. Our buildings are very much weatherproof.
Simpson offers insulation packages that come in multiple thicknesses that you can add to your metal building purchase. Whether you need a 6” insulation package to handle Lake Havasu City’s 120-degree days, you are in the mountains of Sedona where negative temperatures can happen, or maybe you live in a slightly more moderate climate such as Tucson and need a 3” insulation package, we’ve got you covered. Our standard insulation has a VR facing that is very similar to TVEK house wrap. It is a white polypropylene scrim kraft facing and has a very superior vapor barrier and perm rating. The facing is laminated with a flame-retardant adhesive that is reinforced with tri-directional fiberglass/polyester to prevent rips and tears.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a permit, and how do you support that process?
Permits are issued by your local jurisdiction, so requirements vary by city and county. We supply engineered drawings, an anchor-bolt plan, and design load data for your submittal, and we can adjust engineering within truss limits or quote a rigid frame if higher loads are required. Contact your building department early for setbacks, wind/snow criteria, and inspections; doing so avoids rework, delays, and unexpected fees.
What foundation types work with your kits?
Most Arizona projects use a slab-on-grade with a thickened edge, but drilled piers or a stem-wall perimeter can also be suitable. Your package includes anchor-bolt locations and reactions; share these with your concrete contractor to set bolts accurately, allow proper cure time, and align door thresholds. Soil conditions, drainage, and finished floor elevation matter, so plan for compaction, slopes, and water run-off before you pour.
How do you handle insulation and condensation control in a hot, sunny climate?
We offer vinyl-faced fiberglass, radiant barriers, and venting options to limit heat gain and reduce interior condensation. Cool-roof colors, proper air sealing at penetrations, and continuous insulation at the roofline can noticeably improve comfort, noise control, and operational costs. Tell us your usage—storage, shop, or conditioned workspace—and we’ll suggest an insulation package that balances performance, budget, and build time.
