Serving Connecticut from shoreline to hill towns, Simpson Steel Building Company makes owning a steel building simple, predictable, and on schedule. Whether you’re adding a garage, expanding a shop, or planning storage for seasonal equipment, our metal building kits arrive ready for efficient assembly and long service life. We listen to your goals, review site constraints, and tailor a package that fits your footprint, timeline, and budget—without unnecessary complexity.
Sizing, Loads, and Fit
Our pre-engineered packages include precision-fit framing, roof and wall panels, trim, and hardware, plus clear erection documentation. Choose practical upgrades—insulation, gutters, lean-tos, and light-transmitting panels—so your metal building performs the way you work. When you need documentation to support local review, we can provide drawings and, upon request, stamped submittals. A properly engineered metal building reduces rework and shortens schedules. Labeled components speed installation, consistent parts improve fit, and straightforward instructions keep crews productive. Our patented truss approach focuses on strength, constructability, and value, giving you a dependable steel building that stands up to New England weather.
Engineered Fit for Connecticut Sites
From compact lots to rural acreage, we help you plan access for delivery, safe laydown, and a clean staging area. If your project requires spans or loads beyond truss limits, we’ll discuss alternate frames so you get the right solution, not just a quick one. Expect honest lead times, transparent shipping details, and responsive support from quote to closeout. Ready to move from plan to panels? Request a free quote today and let us deliver a metal building or steel building kit that fits your Connecticut property—professionally and flexibly.
We also deliver metal building in Calififornia and Texas.
Simpson Steel Building Company has been providing metal buildings to the great state of Connecticut for over 40 years. We’ve become very familiar with and kept up with local building code changes that have come up over the years. The high snow load requirements in the state of Connecticut can sometimes mean that you will need to utilize our rigid frame building design as it gives you all the benefits of a traditional red-iron structure for a much lower price point!
Our bolt-together building kits are easy to assemble and only require a forklift or tractor with tongs to move around. This makes our metal building kit the perfect solution for anybody in Connecticut looking for an affordable DIY Kit for their project needs. Speaking of projects, our buildings work great for a multitude of uses, such as hay barns, stables, garages, shops, commercial buildings, and barndominium homes! In the event that you want someone to erect the building for you, we have a list of local contractors we can refer to help with that aspect of the project.
Simpson offers insulation packages that come in multiple thicknesses that you can add to your metal building purchase. Whether you need a 6” insulation package to handle the humidity on those warm summer days in or around New Haven or Bridgeport, you need bundle up in the winter months in Windsor or Manchester, or maybe you just need a 3” insulation package for moderate temperature control around New London or Stonington, we’ve got you covered. Our standard insulation has a VR facing that is very similar to TVEK house wrap. It is a white polypropylene scrim kraft facing and has a very superior vapor barrier and perm rating. The facing is laminated with a flame-retardant adhesive that is reinforced with tri-directional fiberglass/polyester to prevent rips and tears.

Frequently Asked Questions
What lead times should we expect, and how can we stay on schedule?
Lead times vary by season and options, but planning approvals and foundation work early keeps your date firm. Share your target delivery window, and we’ll coordinate production and freight to match it. A ready site—level, accessible, and staged—prevents delays, damage, and cost overruns.
How do coastal conditions in Connecticut affect material choices?
Salt air can accelerate corrosion, so consider enhanced coatings, stainless fasteners at critical points, and diligent gutter maintenance. Rinsing exterior panels seasonally, especially near the shore, preserves finish and hardware. Proper ventilation and sealed transitions also help manage moisture, temperature swings, and condensation.
What foundation options work best for my project?
Many owners choose a reinforced slab for vehicles and equipment, while others use piers or perimeter foundations for phased builds. Your soil conditions, loads, and drainage plan will drive the right choice, so consult your local engineer for sizing, anchors, and frost-depth requirements. A well-designed foundation protects the structure, improves door operation, and simplifies future modifications.
